An interactive presentation or demonstration is an alternative to the tutorial as a way of conveying knowledge from an expert to newcomers. It is most effective when knowledge about the topic can be conveyed by seeing it in action.

At XPDay we emphasize interaction to help participants explore the topic on their own terms, become more deeply involved and ask questions. As such an interactive presentation or demonstration can be quite similar to a tutorial or a game / simulation.
