A clinic provides a forum for a group of experts to solve problems posed by members of the audience. Unlike a panel discussion, there is a lot of interplay and discussion between the experts and the audience as the problem, its context and position solutions are explored.

A clinic often begins with the audience gathering and grouping issues, facilitated by the organizer. This allows the common issues that most of the participants face to be identified and dealt with.
