In the tradition of previous XPDays in London and Benelux, the fourth XP Days Germany conference is an international conference about eXtreme Programming and Agile Software Development aimed at software developers, project leaders, IT managers, testers, architects, and coaches. XP Day Benelux is a two day international conference about agile software development, intended for software development and business people from all walks of life. This event is organized by AgileSystems vzw with the Dutch XP users group and the Belgian XP users group

In this Skills Matter In-the-Brain session, Martine Devos will guide delegates through the best techniques and perception management for estimators and their customers, as well as, provided reflections on how to improve our reputation as estimators. Agile methods provide useful techniques and practices for teams and their customers to improve accuracy without creating illusions of precision. Many estimation problems come from misunderstanding and miscommunication about what estimates are and confusion with other related concepts like planning and targets. Martine discussed where errors come from, what we can promise and how we best serve the primary purpose of the software estimation process.
